Musée portuaire de Dunkerque

The visit to the museum, based on the history of the port of Dunkirk, allows visitors to discover a large port, its operation and its essential role in both ancient and contemporary maritime exchanges. The visit to the boats invites the public to share the life of the cadets on board the three-masted ship Duchesse Anne, that of the sailors on the fireboat Sandettié (two ships listed as Historic Monuments) or that of the boatmen on board the barge Guilde. The museum's vocation is also to offer an original approach to the world of the port. This is reflected in its cultural programme: temporary exhibitions, conferences, screenings and debates take place throughout the year. Children and families are not forgotten as workshops are offered during the school holidays. Museum: 10am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 6pm. Closed on Tuesdays except during the school holidays and July/August. Boats: visits on Sundays, public holidays and holidays.
