Built in the 1950s to sort mail from the Lille metropolitan area, then converted into a cultural venue for Lille 2004, European Capital of Culture, the Tripostal has become a major space for contemporary creation. Maison natale Charles de Gaulle

A historic monument labeled "Maison des illustres", the birthplace of Charles de Gaulle aims to introduce the widest possible audience to the childhood and genesis of the one who will become the most illustrious of French people. The house recreates the atmosphere of an interior characteristic of the industrial bourgeoisie of northern France at the end of the 19th century.
